Background
Centre for Women and Children Development, which abbreviated as CWCD, is a voluntary Non-Governmental and non- profit sharing organization formed in 1995. The organization was first established as a Community Based Organization (CBOs) before being registered as Non –Government Organization (NGO) under the society ordinance of 1954. CWCD acquired the Certificate of compliance under the NGO Act of 2002 in 2006 in with Registration no. 01NGO/1661.
The motive behind the formation of CWCD is to promote human rights among the disadvantaged women and vulnerable children and improving sustainable community development in Tanzania. The organization is working in areas of microfinance Early Childhood Development (ECD) and HIV prevention and educate society on children rights and responsibility especially most vulnerable Children. With this strategic plan, CWCD broadens its mandate to add social accountability monitoring (SAM) interventions to its service delivery and capacity building approaches to the working areas .
CWCD have three office which are head office located at Arusha region, and two sub office one is in Karatu under Pamoja Tuwalee Program, and another is in BABATI under Mwanzo Bora Nutrition Program.
